Preparation steps:

1. Mix 250g chickpea flour with 300ml water to form a smooth batter.
2. Heat oil in a deep pan. Pour batter through a perforated spoon over hot oil, forming droplets. Fry until golden, then drain on paper towels.
3. Boil 300g sugar with 150ml water until it reaches a one-string consistency. Add cardamom and saffron.
4. Mix fried boondi with syrup, add nuts (optional). Stir well until syrup is absorbed.
5. While warm, shape mixture into round balls using hands. Let cool and set before serving.
