Preparation steps:

1. Rinse 250g chickpeas and soak overnight.
2. Drain and boil chickpeas until tender.
3. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil.
4. Saute 1 chopped onion until golden.
5. Add 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, cook briefly.
6. Stir in 2 chopped tomatoes, cook until soft.
7. Mix in 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon coriander, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon chili powder, and 1 teaspoon garam masala.
8. Add boiled chickpeas to the mixture.
9. Pour in 1 cup of water, simmer for 15 minutes.
10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
11. Serve hot with rice or bread.
