Preparation steps:

1. Cook 1 cup chana dal in boiling water until soft; drain and mash.
2. Mix mashed dal with 1 cup jaggery in a pan over medium heat until thickened. Add 1 teaspoon cardamom powder; cool the filling.
3. Prepare dough by mixing 1 cup all-purpose flour, a pinch of turmeric, and a tablespoon of oil; add water gradually to form a soft dough. Rest for 30 minutes.
4. Divide dough and filling into equal portions. Flatten a dough ball, place filling in center, and seal edges.
5. Roll gently into a flat disc using a rolling pin, dusting with flour as needed.
