Preparation steps:

1. Soak 200g of horse gram in water overnight.
2. Drain and pressure cook with 4 cups of water until tender.
3. Strain, reserving the broth, and blend the cooked gram to a smooth paste.
4. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
5. Add 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, and a pinch of asafoetida, saute until aromatic.
6. Stir in 2 chopped green chilies and 10 curry leaves.
7. Pour in the gram paste and reserved broth.
8. Season with 1 teaspoon tamarind paste, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon red chili powder.
9. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
10. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
