Preparation steps:

1. Soak 1 cup rice and ¼ cup urad dal in water for 4-6 hours.
2. Drain and grind them separately to a smooth batter, adding water as needed.
3. Mix both batters, add ½ teaspoon salt, and let ferment overnight.
4. Pour batter into greased idli molds.
5. Steam for 10-15 minutes until cooked.
6. For chutney, blend 1 cup grated coconut, 2 green chilies, and a small piece of ginger with ¼ cup water.
7. Add salt to taste and temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
