Preparation steps:

1. Marinate 500g fish fillets with salt and turmeric; set aside.
2. Blend 1 cup coconut milk, 2 tablespoons tamarind paste, 2 cloves garlic, 1-inch ginger, 2 dried red chilies, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, and 1 teaspoon cumin seeds into a smooth paste.
3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan; saute 1 chopped onion until golden.
4. Add the blended paste; cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
5. Pour in 1 cup water; bring to a simmer.
6. Gently add marinated fish; simmer until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
